Niveshgyan
The corporate talk series under Investocraft 2011.
Through it we invite distinguished speakers to come on campus and speak on the current issues facing the markets.
The first stage of Investocraft, Niveshgyaan, began with Mr. Dharmendra Rai (Mumbai's First Mind Map Trainer, Mumbai's First and Only ThinkBuzan Licensed Instructor) coming to campus and sharing the tricks to learning and recollecting in a previously unimaginable way—through pictures(mind maps). It was a session where we as students realized the capacity of our mind and that this ability is going will be of tremendous benefit while remembering the vast amounts of company information required to trade in the markets.
Under Niveshgyaan, we also had Mr. Vikaas Sachdeva, Chief Executive Officer at Edelweiss Asset Management Ltd., visiting us. He shared his analysis of the present Mutual Fund scenario and his vision of the future. He also spoke extensively on the need to have greater participation of retail investors and the role mutual funds play in attracting retail investors. An important point covered was the various new investment avenues that mutual funds were exploring for sustainable growth.
At Niveshgyaan, we also had Mr. Pankaj Jaju, Executive Director, Investment Banking, Enam Securities, visiting us.Many of us were confused as to what were the opportunities present in the capital markets, and as MBA Capital Markets students where can we fit in. In order to address this concern, we invited Mr. Pankaj Jaju, Executive Director, Investment Banking, Enam Securities. Mr. Jaju spoke at length about his perspective of the current scenario and the way ahead. He also was kind enough to guide and help us understand the various roles and positions on offer in Capital Markets and the nature of work one can expected to do. This brought clarity and enabled students to identify the work they would like to do and what needs to be done to get there.
