An agreement between BSE Limited and SVKM’S NMIMS in March 2005 became the platform for setting up the BSE Limited SVKM’S NMIMS centre for Capital Markets studies to conduct educational programs in the field of capital market studies. This collaboration between such renowned institutions resulted in the design and development of the curriculum for MBA (Capital Markets).
MBA Capital Markets is a two year full-time programs designed to cover all important spheres of capital market activities. This includes market intermediaries such as investment banks, brokerage houses, credit rating agencies, stock exchanges, commodity exchanges, regulatory bodies, asset management companies, corporate bodies to name a few. The programme is a right combination of traditional core finance subjects along with capital market related subjects. This program emphasizes on practical knowledge and is facilitated by a mix of known professionals from the industry as well as distinguished in-house faculty.
This program is unique in the sense that it provides the students with a mock trading room so that along with theoretical knowledge the students gain some practical knowledge too. Live trading data from the BSE Limited is available to the students on a continuous basis. Mock trading sessions are held so as to upgrade the trading skills and integrate with the conceptual knowledge imparted by a team of core as well as visiting faculty.
